The California Association of Teachers of English (CATE) Pre-Convention took place in San Francisco on February 28. CCWP Teacher Consultants Nichole Perry, Tully Quinn, and Stacy Whittemore facilitated engaging workshops to educators and administrators throughout the state. In Nichole’s workshop, “From Invention to Revision: Using AI to Strengthen Student Voice” participants learned about, worked with, and discovered how to implement different AI tools including Joyschooler, Goblin Tools, and Brisk Teaching into the classroom. Tully and Stacy’s workshop, “Engaging Narrative Lessons” had participants working in groups participating in genre circles, and working on narrative leads and endings. Participants in both sessions came away with resources they could implement in their classroom the next day.
