Writing for Today and Tomorrow: Social Justice Issues and Identities
June 24th – June 27th
9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
From June 24th to June 27th, the Central California Writing Project is hosting a hybrid open institute, where teachers can engage in reading, writing, and conversations about Identities, Environmental Literacy and Justice, Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, and Social Justice. Workshops will focus on how these topics and mentor texts can inform teaching of analytical reading, argument writing, and narrative writing. Participants will collaborate in grade-level groups to develop and share their own teaching sequence or unit, using current curriculum and/or resources we provide during the institute.
Teachers of grades 3-12 are encouraged to apply and reach out to their principals and school districts to fund the $200 registration fee. CEUs will be available.
More information on how to register is coming soon!
